Why it is built this way
A customer has measured the dining room twice and knows no shop sells a table that size. That is who lands on this page, and it is laid out in the order they need.
First comes the Nucleus header, with the name in Bricolage Grotesque, a sans with a hand-cut, slightly quirky character that suits two makers better than a polished corporate face would.
Then the bio: "Two makers. Everything is hardwood and everything is made to order." Those two sentences prepare a buyer for material, lead time and price without stating any of them.
Then "Start a commission", in a honey-oak ochre (#A8791C) with dark lettering (#0F0D0A), the colour of oiled timber against a warm near-black background (#171613).
Then "The timber we use", for the careful buyer who wants to know where the wood comes from and why it costs what it does.
Works in progress can go in the content section under the buttons. For furniture made to order, showing the process builds the patience a long wait requires. The bio and buttons use Instrument Sans, the bio sits in a soft grey (#C8C6C1), and the buttons are square, like a well-cut joint.
Makers whose buyers want to see how something is built, before they commit to waiting for it, will find this a natural fit.
