Why it is built this way
2011 is the only number on the page, and it tells a homeowner something a gallery of renders cannot: this practice has been at it a while. The bio pairs that year with a specialism, "Housing and adaptive reuse, plus the occasional shed", and the aside about sheds makes a serious firm sound approachable.
If you run a small practice, the three buttons are worth copying almost word for word. "Current work" leads, since people want to see built projects first. "How we charge" comes second, and it earns that spot because fees are the awkward question a client would rather not ask on the phone. "Talk about a site" closes the stack, and it asks for the one thing an architect needs to start a real conversation, which a plain "Contact us" rarely does.
The styling translates just as directly. The background is a pale concrete grey (#E8E6E1) with near-black bio text (#33322F). A single deep ultramarine (#23368C) is the button colour, and the same blue circles the profile photo. Archivo, a firm sans with a slightly technical build, sets the studio name, while Inter runs the bio and buttons. Square button corners echo the straight lines of drawings.
This is the classic layout with no extras switched on. Change the specialism, the year and the three labels, and most of your page is done.
