Linkpop has been discontinued: Shopify's App Store listing for it now reads "This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store," and linkpop.com redirects to Shopify's homepage. There is nothing left to sign up for or pay for, so the useful question is what to move your bio link to, and how to do it without losing the people still tapping your old one.
This page covers what happened, what Linkpop did well enough to be worth replacing, the realistic options for a Shopify seller, and a checklist for the move.
What happened to Linkpop
Shopify launched Linkpop in 2022 as a free link-in-bio tool built for merchants. Its selling point was shoppable links: products from your Shopify store sat on the bio page and led straight to your own checkout.
The discontinuation itself is confirmed by Shopify's own App Store page. The date is less certain. Taplink, a competing link-in-bio tool, reported in June 2025 that Shopify had announced a shutdown for July 7, 2025, had closed new signups on June 11, and had emailed existing users. Another Shopify app developer, bitbybit, gives the same July 7 date. We couldn't find that date on a Shopify-owned page, so treat it as widely reported rather than confirmed by Shopify.
The reports also disagree on what happened to existing pages. Taplink said they would stay up without editing or login; bitbybit said they stopped working. When we requested linkpop.com addresses on September 27, 2026, the bare domain redirected to Shopify's homepage and every username path we tried returned a 404 (page not found) error. If a bio, email signature or printed QR code still points at linkpop.com, assume it is a dead end and check it with a redirect checker.
One more thing to be aware of: Shopify's own blog post on Linktree alternatives, still live when we checked, lists Linkpop first and links to the unavailable App Store page. That page is out of date. Don't take it as a sign Linkpop is coming back.
Linkpop review, in hindsight
It was free, it worked with a Shopify account even on a non-paid plan, according to Shopify agency First Pier, and it included basic click analytics at no cost. Shopify's own blog credited it with analytics Linktree's free tier didn't offer. For a store owner, a page that cost nothing and sent shoppers straight to their own checkout was a hard deal to beat.
It had problems before the end. A Shopify Community thread with posts from July 2023 to October 2024 describes "this site's security certificate is not trusted" warnings on mobile. The bigger weakness only showed at the end: every Linkpop page lived on linkpop.com, so when Shopify switched the product off, every link built on it depended on an address merchants didn't control. By the time we checked, those addresses returned errors, and the fix sat with each merchant.
If your bio link lives on a domain you own, the next shutdown means changing where that address points. If it lives on someone else's domain, it means updating every bio, signature and printed code by hand.
Linkpop pricing
Linkpop was free while it ran, and there is no paid version, legacy plan or replacement product under the Linkpop name to buy today.
What to move to
The right replacement depends on which part of Linkpop you relied on. Most sellers fall into one of these.
| Option | Shows Shopify products on the page | Your own domain | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your Shopify store itself (a collection or landing page as the bio link) | Yes, natively | Yes, if your store uses one | Stores with one main offer or a seasonal collection |
| A link-in-bio app from the Shopify App Store (for example bitLink, from bitbybit) | Yes, its developer says it pulls in your products; it requires a Shopify store | Check the listing | Sellers who want the closest thing to Linkpop |
| Taplink | Taplink says it can feature Shopify products, alongside 60+ payment providers | Check Taplink's plans | Sellers who also want forms, timers or other page blocks |
| Linktree | Through its own commerce tools (digital products, shop links), not a Shopify product sync | No custom domain on the free plan | A familiar general-purpose link page; free plan charges 12% on digital product sales sold through Linktree |
| Raydar | No. Buttons link to your product pages; there is no checkout | From the $9 Starter plan | Sellers who want to see which platform or campaign sends buyers |
Details as of September 27, 2026. Check each tool's own pricing page before you commit; third-party claims here are attributed to the company making them.
If shoppable product cards were the reason you used Linkpop, a Shopify App Store app or a page on your own store is the closer replacement, and Raydar isn't. For more general options, our Linktree alternatives comparison covers eight tools side by side.
Migration checklist
- Find every copy of the old link. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and X bios, email signatures, your Shopify theme, pinned posts, ads, packaging inserts and printed QR codes.
- Test each one. Run the old address through a redirect checker so you know what visitors see today.
- Rebuild the page from your store, not from memory. Pull current product and collection URLs from your Shopify admin. If you need to see what your old page listed, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine may have a saved copy.
- Put the new page on your own domain if the tool allows it, for example a subdomain of your store's domain. The next time a tool changes, you update one DNS record instead of every bio. Our guide to pointing a domain with DNS covers the setup.
- Tag your links. Add UTM parameters to product links so your store's analytics can separate Instagram traffic from TikTok traffic.
- Replace printed QR codes. A code that points at linkpop.com can't be redirected by you. Generate new ones with a QR code generator, ideally pointing at your own domain.
- Update the bios, then test on a phone. Tap the link from inside each app, because in-app browsers can behave differently from Safari or Chrome.
- Accept what you can't fix. Old captions and reposts will keep the dead link. Prioritize pinned posts, running ads and anything printed.
Where Raydar fits
Raydar won't replace Linkpop's product cards, and if those were the point, one of the Shopify-native options above is the better pick. Raydar fits the other half of the job: a bio page on your own domain that shows where your buyers came from. Every click ties back to the platform or campaign that sent it, and location, device and referrer are logged from the Starter plan up. The free plan is $0 for two pages with basic analytics, no card required. Starter is $9 a month, or $6.49 billed annually, and adds your own domain, ten pages and no Raydar branding. Raydar takes a 0% platform fee on every plan, and if you cancel, extra pages are locked rather than deleted and your domain stays connected. Plans are on the pricing page, and link tracking for ecommerce covers how stores use it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Linkpop still available?
No. Shopify's App Store listing for Linkpop says the app is not currently available, and linkpop.com now redirects to Shopify's homepage. New pages can't be created.
When did Linkpop shut down?
Third-party sources, including Taplink and bitbybit, report that Shopify shut Linkpop down on July 7, 2025, with new signups closed from June 11, 2025. We couldn't find that date on a Shopify-owned page, so treat it as reported rather than confirmed by Shopify.
How much did Linkpop cost?
Nothing. Linkpop was a free tool, and there is no paid version or replacement plan under the Linkpop name today.
Do old Linkpop links still work?
Assume not. When we requested linkpop.com addresses on September 27, 2026, the bare domain redirected to Shopify's homepage and every username path we tried returned a 404 error. Replace the link in every bio, signature and printed QR code.
What is the best Linkpop alternative for a Shopify store?
For products shown on the page the way Linkpop did it, use a link-in-bio app from the Shopify App Store or a collection page on your own store. Linktree and Taplink cover a general link page. If you mainly want to see which platform or campaign sends buyers, a tracked page like Raydar fits, though it has no checkout.
